The pattern for "Wave Goodbye" was created by myself and my husband. I laid down on about two dozen pieces of sketchbook paper (chosen so I could more easily work in small pieces and keep things portable) and a line was traced around my body. The hands and arms were woven first, followed by the head, the feet and legs, the hips and finally the torso. The most difficult part was sewing the various pieces together into one large body, as each new limb contributed more weight to the evolving piece and put stress on the thread, which often tore and had to be repaired. I began feeling a bit like Dr. Frankenstein.
